Senior highlight: Liberty Fleming
Senior Liberty Fleming has created a path of her own throughout her time at NNU. Liberty’s interests are a mixture of business and social/cultural studies, which led her to create an individualized major in Social-Cultural Entrepreneurship. This specialized major has allowed her to explore several disciplines on campus, while catering perfectly to what she is passionate about.
“The faculty in these fields have given me opportunities to take my education and apply it to real world issues.”“The faculty in these fields have given me opportunities to take my education and apply it to real world issues. The most prominent example of this was a recent trip to Haiti where I spent a week with Partners Worldwide learning about aid impact and development in that country and how it can be improved,” Liberty said.
Liberty has also been heavily involved in student government on campus, and she is currently serving as SGA (Student Government Association) Campus Ministries Coordinator. The main goal of SGA is to enhance the student experience through events and campus involvement, and Liberty has loved working to accomplish that goal.
“My experience on SGA has been formative and fulfilling. From class council to the executive council, every position I've held has included unique challenges that require vision, strategy and teamwork.”
After graduation, Liberty doesn’t have any concrete plans, other than taking a really long nap (she jokes). Eventually, she plans to go to graduate school, work abroad and continue learning about how God is at work throughout the world.
