NNU Announces Enrollment and Retention Numbers for Fall 2019
President Joel Pearsall has announced the student enrollment and retention numbers for the fall 2019 semester.
This fall, NNU has recorded the highest retention rate ever achieved to date. Eighty-four percent of the first-time, full-time students who came in fall 2018 were retained to fall 2019. According to Amanda Marble, who previously managed student retention programs and data, this rate has steadily increased over the past five years, surpassing the typical retention rates of most comparable universities.
“This high level of retention speaks to the collaboration of our entire community coming together in support of students curricularly and co-curricularly,” said Marble. “We are proud of the great work that has been done across campus to ensure our students have an engaging and valuable experience here.”
According to Dave Covington, Chief Retention and Persistence Officer, “The University is committed to continuing to develop intentional strategies that will ensure our students persist and thrive at NNU.”
This academic year, NNU welcomed 1,237 undergraduate and 694 graduate students. Of the 1,237 undergraduate students, there were 347 new first-year and transfer students. NNU also has 7,475 Continuing Education students and 183 Nazarene Minister’s Course of Study students enrolled for fall semester, bringing NNU’s total enrollment to 9,589 students.
