200 alumni gather for Mariners game in Seattle

August 24, 2016

Monday, August 8, a group of 220 NNU alumni gathered to watch the Seattle Mariners defeat the Detroit Tigers 3-0 at Safeco Field in Seattle. Included in the group were several alumni that had made the trip from Idaho to meet up with family and friends, and families that represented three generations of NNU alums!

Dr. Brent Peterson announced as new dean

Northwest Nazarene University is pleased to announce Dr. Brent Peterson as Dean of the School of Theology and Christian Ministries (STCM). “Dr. Peterson's extensive experience in church leadership, his significant contributions as a theologian and scholar, and his strong record as a university educator have prepared him well,” says Dr. Ed Robinson, Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Remembering Dr. A. Gordon Wetmore

Northwest Nazarene University and president Joel Pearsall extend their deepest condolences to the family and friends of Dr. Arnold Gordon Wetmore, former NNU president. Dr. Wetmore passed away on the morning of June 9, 2016, at the age of 84.

NNU confers 579 degrees at 100th commencement

Saturday, May 7, NNU honored 241 graduates from the College of Arts & Sciences and 338 graduates from the College of Adult & Graduate Studies. The graduates represented states from throughout the U.S. and 15 foreign countries, including Albania, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Paraguay, South Korea and Zambia.

After graduating on May 7 with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering with an electrical emphasis, Erik Anderson will prepare to head to Columbia University in the fall where he will begin a graduate assistantship and pursue a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering.

Senior business student wins franchise competition

April 27, 2016

Wednesday, April 27, three students presented their business plans for a Cherry Berry Self-Serve Yogurt Bar franchise before an eight-judge panel. Following the presentations, the panel selected Martin Lira, a global business and accounting major from Nampa, as the winner and recipient of a Cherry Berry franchise located in Oklahoma.
