NNU mathematics alumnus James T. Christy will give a lecture titled “How We Know Who We Are—Information for Decisions in the United States” on Thursday, October 5. Christy is the regional director for the U.S. Census Bureau's Los Angeles Region where he is responsible for all Census Bureau activities in the western United States. This lecture is free and open to the public.

NNU is honored to confer the degree Doctor of Humane Letters, honoris causa on Jerry L. Caven. As philanthropists, Jerry and Muriel Caven have supported ministry work in Central America, South Asia, Africa and the United States. The ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, September 22 in the Swayne Auditorium of NNU’s Brandt Center.
President Joel Pearsall has announced NNU's total fall 2017 enrollment at 2,040 students—just 24 shy of our all-time high in 2011. With 43 percent of the new undergraduate students enrolled in a STEM area of study, the top majors chosen by the freshman class are nursing, education and biology, respectively.

NNU will confer an honorary degree on John Boyd at the Swayne Auditorium of the NNU Brandt Center on Wednesday, September 13 at 10 a.m. He will be honored with a Doctor of Humane Letters, honoris causa for his life of service to others. Boyd has personified the mission, objectives and ideals of NNU through his work with Mission Aviation Fellowship.
The NNU Friesen Galleries and Hill Street Studios/TRACK 13 have partnered to produce a contemporary art show titled ExTRACKtion, which features a variety of approaches to art depicting trains, the Nampa depot and graffiti. There will be live demonstrations of graffiti painting at the opening reception on Tuesday, September 12.
NNU's School of Theology and Christian Ministries is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. T. Scott Daniels as the Pastoral Scholar-in-Residence. With this appointment, Dr. Daniels will continue his work in the classroom to enhance the student experience at both the undergraduate and graduate level.
