NNU hosts computer science and engineering career fair
NNU students and alumni are invited to attend the 5th annual Computer Science and Engineering Career Fair located in the lobby of the Thomas Health and Science Center on Thursday, Oct. 20, from 10 a.m.–12 p.m.
“Because of my interactions with Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. at the Computer Science and Engineering Career Fair, I was able to get a job that will jump-start my career,” remarked senior computer science major Nathan Emerson. “Not only was I able to get face-to-face communication with professionals in my career field, but I was able to learn what those companies look for when hiring. After a series of interviews, I received the position of Software Engineer Intern at Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc., a position I still hold.”
Hosted by NNU’s Career Center in partnership with the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science and Department of Engineering, this fair allows students and alumni to make internship and networking connections with local organizations. To date, 18 organizations—including HP, Micron, Lawrence Livermore National Lab, Clearwater Analytics, National Security Technologies, Mission Aviation Fellowship, and Apple—have registered for the event with the intent of promoting their organization and recruiting students.
