There are many things that homecoming brings to our campus—a time of celebration, togetherness, liveliness and so much more—but it means something a little different to each person. Three current students share their perspective on Homecoming & Family Weekend 2016.
Now in its fourth year, "Noel" features performances from NNU’s top ensembles and offers an evening of outstanding traditional Christmas classics each year as well as new inspirational music. Join NNU and the Department of Music on Sunday, December 11 for this annual Christmas performance.
NNU's Department of Music will present a fall concert featuring the unique styles of both the NNU Concert Band and Bella Voce women’s chorus on Tuesday, Nov. 8 at 7:30 p.m. in the Brandt Center’s Swayne Auditorium. Concert Band’s repertoire will reflect instrumental sounds from across the ages; Bella Voce’s program will explore the concept of remembrance.
In conjunction with Homecoming & Family Weekend 2016, NNU invites the community to attend this year’s Department of Music Concert on Saturday, November 12. The concert will feature performances from NNU’s top ensembles including Bella Voce, Jazz Revival, Concert Band, Northwesterners, and Crusader Choir & Orchestra.
Come hang out with friends, family, alumni and current NNU students in the Johnson Sports Center fieldhouse for free food, games and fun following the end of the men’s basketball game.
Join us for a 5K run/walk, hosted by the NNU Cross Country and Track and Field teams, that will take place on Saturday, November 12 at 11:00 a.m. The event will start in front of the Leah Peterson Learning Commons on East Dewey St. and finish on the track.
During Homecoming & Family Weekend 2016, NNU’s School of Theology and Christian Ministries will host a panel discussion entitled “Celebrating our Heritage: Women’s Ordination in the Church of the Nazarene.” The panel will include President of Nazarene Theological Seminary Dr. Carla Sunberg along with faculty members and other guests.
During Homecoming & Family Weekend 2016, Northwest Nazarene University will be hosting a Crusader Baseball reunion on Friday, Nov. 11 and Saturday, Nov. 12. This reunion will celebrate the growth of the baseball program over the decades and those who made it possible. Alumni of all ages will have the chance to connect during two days of events.
Connections made and relationships built at NNU are invaluable, and during Homecoming & Family Weekend 2016, NNU wants to make sure you have a chance to reconnect with friends and faculty who have impacted your life. Share a meal in rooms across campus that will be filled with alumni eating breakfast with one another and joining in fellowship.
Each year at homecoming, NNU honors alumni for their accomplishments and service since graduation. Dr. Ray Lindley, Steve Wyborney and Dr. Daniel Benedick will be recognized Friday, November 11 at the Alumni Awards Chapel.
